David P Johnston, age 73, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at his home in Bluefield, WV. Born April 27, 1946 in Squire, WV, he was the son of the late Fred O Johnston and Bessie May Farmer Johnston. David lived in Bluefield all his life and retired from Bluefield Gas Company after 39 years of loyal service. He will be deeply missed by friends and family. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by sisters, Etheline Gold and Gladys M Tibbs. Survivors include his wife Pinky Johnston of Bluefield, WV; sons, David W Johnston, John O Johnston, James E Johnston and wife, Wanda all of Bluefield, WV; daughters, Melissa A Lewis and husband, Phillip of Max Meadows, VA, Lori L Murray of Rayland, OH, Crystal K Mills of Huntington, WV and step daughter Wendy Justice of Abington, VA. 11 grandchildren, Robbie Wray, Telisha Johnston, Cameron Johnston, Zachary Lewis, Tanner Lewis, Levi Lewis, Matthew Johnston, Veronica Hudson, Alyssa Mills, Gabe Mills and Cheyanne Marie; five great grandchildren, Zoe, Gavin, Bella, Bradlee, and Jase; brother John B. Johnston and wife Geraldine of Bluefield, VA; sister, Madeline V. McClanahan of Homosassa, FL. Special thanks to Pastor Jim Price of Rocky Gap for the many home visitations and bible studies. Memorial services will be held on Thursday June 27, 2019 at 7:00 PM with the Rev. Bobby Koen officiating.
