December 29 1949 June 5 2019
David “Double Eagle Dave”‘s Obituary David Walker Moser “Double Eagle Dave”, 69, left his earthly home to enter Heaven on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 after a brief, heart-related illness. Dave graduated from Tyner High School in 1968 and (along with his three brothers) was an Eagle Scout. He served proudly in the Army National Guard, attended TN Tech in Cookeville and graduated from ECPI. Dave was a natural genius regarding IT. He taught at ECPI after graduation and then retired after 38 years of service from BCBS TN as Senior Director over Blue Care. His passion was life itself. Dave was a lifetime member of SASS (Single Action Shooters Society) and for twenty plus years he was a member of the Ocoee Rangers, Hooten Olde Town (KY), Waretrace Regulators, TN Mountain Marauders, North Alabama Regulators, Possum Trot, and the Riverbend Rough Riders. He won numerous first place awards in KY, AL, TN, GA as well as in other states. Dave was loved by a band of “cowboy shooting brothers” and was known as the “Mayor of Hooten” in Hooten Olde Town (the town he loved). He was an expert in firearms and loved promoting “this silly game we play”. Dave was instrumental in bringing many new shooters into the sport, including a number of women. He was a faultless instructor. Dave was a renaissance man, proficient in many disciplines. A logical, analytical thinker to a fault, he will be missed by hundreds. Share your memories of Dave on our guestbook. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Willard Moser and Helen Walker Moser; sons, infant Bradley Eugene Moser and Jason Scott Moser. Those left to love and remember him are his eternal fiancé, Ginnie Gray; son, David W. Moser, Jr.; daughter, Heather (Johnathan) Moser Rice; brothers, Ralph (Linda) Moser, Jr., Ronald (Joyce) Moser, Larry (Gina) Moser; grandsons, Cody, Gabriel and Jeriah; members of the Walker family in Scott County, TN and the Moser family in Ohio; several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as his faithful fur sons, Sparky and Sam, all who will miss him greatly. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home Hwy 58 Chapel. A visitation will also be held on Sunday, June 9, 2019 from 11 – 1 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Amy Nutt officiating. Dave will be laid to rest in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be his “special brothers” from Hooten, the Ocoee Rangers and the TN Mountain Marauders. Cowboys and Cowgirls attending his going home are encouraged to dress in cowboy attire to make Double Eagle proud. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society, the Salvation Army, the Wounded Warrior Project, or a charity of your choice. HAPPY TRAILS, PARD. Read More
