Darrell’s Obituary Funeral services for Mr. Darrell Leonard Knighton will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2019, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville with Brother Frank Peacock officiating. Interment will follow in Summerfield Cemetery, Summerfield Community, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville. Darrell Leonard Knighton, 65, of Colfax, entered eternal rest on Thursday, June 6, 2019, in his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born May 12, 1954 in Lewisville, Arkansas and was the proud owner of D N D Appliance for over twenty-five years, in his hometown, of Colfax, Louisiana. He was very well-known and liked in Grant Parish and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otha “Cotton” Knighton and Geraldine Sanders Knighton and two sisters, Bertha Slayton and Jeri McGee. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of forty-seven years, Debbie Slayton Knighton, of Colfax; one son, Travis Lee Knighton and his wife, Jennifer, of Boyce; two daughters, Daphne Gagnard and her husband Joseph, of Colfax and Misty Durr and her husband, Preston, of Colfax; one brother, Wayne Knighton and his wife, Dot, of Oklahoma; one sister, Betty Conklin and her husband, Stan, of Stamps, AR.; seven grandchildren, Kelsey Polk and her husband, Blake, Travis Keith Knighton, Stormee Knighton, Blade Harrington, Sabrina Harrington Peterson, Devin Durr and Wesley Durr; two great grandchildren, Selena and Chelsea Peterson and a multitude of extended family, friends and customers. Friends may call at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, on Saturday, June 8, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Sunday, June 9, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Pallbearers honored to serve are: John Slayton, Jerry McGee, Joseph Gagnard, Marcus Slayton, W.A. Slayton and Travis Keith Knighton. Honorary pallbearers will be Devin and Wesley Durr.
