Graveside services for Danny Ray Shannon, 65, of Gilmer, will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Grice Cemetery with Bro. Donnie Chamberlain officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 am until 10:30 am at McWhorter Funeral Home. Danny was born October 10, 1953 in Nashville, Tn, to John Lee Shannon and Johnnie Ruth Meadows Shannon and passed from this life on June 2, 2019 in Tyler, Texas. He married Dee Dee Anderson in 1980 and she survives. Danny worked as a heavy equipment operator in pipeline construction and retired in 2006 as a Union Pipeline Operator. Survivors include his wife, Dee Dee Shannon; children, Kristi Houze and husband, Robert, Shawn Shannon, Stephanie Davis and husband, Christoher; brother, Mark Shannon; and by his grandchildren, Jayden Shannon, Jake Shannon, Kinsley Davis and Winston Davis.
