Mrs. Corrine Pearl “Corky” (Medendorp) Bakker, age 83, passed away Monday, June 24, 2019. She was born in Evanston, Illinois on August 17, 1935 to Bert and Gertrude (Kuhl) Cranston. On September 8, 1956, Corrine married Robert Medendorp. He preceded her in death on May 13, 2012. She married Lloyd Bakker on November 22, 2013. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2015. Prior to raising her family, Corrine had worked as a manager of infants wear at Montgomery Wards. She was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church where she was active with the prayer ministry. Corrine volunteered as a 4-H and Brownie leader for many years. She enjoyed Birthday Club lunch, Thursday morning breakfast group, and DeWitt School Reunion Group breakfast. Corrine also enjoyed swimming, bowling, hiking, crocheting, and most importantly, spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Lorrine (Charles) Wright, Nancy (Randall) Hodits, and Julie (Joseph) Kollaritsch; 16 grandchildren; a growing number of great-grandchildren and the loving Bakker family. Corrine was also preceded in death by her dear daughter, Trudi Sobers; her parents; sister, Renee Cranston and brother, Robert Cranston. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Fellowship Reformed Church (4200 Apple Ave., Muskegon 49442) with guest minister Michael Scholten officiating. VISITATION will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday, July 1, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Burial will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. MEMORIALS in Corrine’s memory may be directed to Fellowship Reformed Church.
