Connie Warren, 84, of Afton and formerly of Allerton, Iowa, passed away on June 10, 2019 in Afton. Connie was born on August 6, 1934 in Shenandoah, Iowa to Bert and Velma (Hammond) Williams. After graduating high school, Connie worked at a radio station before owning and operating her very own greenhouse for several years. Connie met Nick Meader and the couple had three children. The couple later separated and she married Donald “Shorty” Warren. In her spare time, she enjoyed: gardening, canning and baking (especially her famous bread!) She was a member of a flower club in Allerton and attended Assembly of God Church in Corydon. Connie is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Trower; sister, Judy Wells; grandchildren: Jason, Chris, Jenny and Jesse Willey, Cody Reed, Sybil Hickie and Aaron Brown and several great grandchildren and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cindy Davis; son, Gary Howell; brother, Butch Williams; sister, Bonnie Wren and her husband, Donald. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon. Interment will immediately follow at Clio Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
