Clayton’s Obituary Funeral services for Mr. Clayton Cloud will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at Calcasieu Baptist Church with Reverends Ed Smith, Joe Cruse and Jeff White officiating. Interment will follow in Union Hill Cemetery, Glenmora, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale. Clayton, 89, of Oakdale, passed peacefully and quickly on Thursday, June 20, 2019 with his wife and son at his side after a long illness. Clayton was the son of Patrick M. and Vergie Johnson Cloud and was a lifelong resident of the Union Hill Community. He was a member and deacon of Calcasieu Baptist Church. He also was a veteran of the Korean War, a pipeline worker, dairy farmer for 23 years and beef cattle farmer for 22 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Earl Cloud, Leonard Cloud, Jimmy Cloud and P. M. Cloud, Jr.; four sisters, Myrtle Strother, Lucille Johnson, Edna Mae Johnson and Betty Rose Perkins Clark. Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty years, Juanita Doyle Cloud of Oakdale, LA; one son, Christopher Clayton Cloud of Oakdale, LA; two grandchildren, Hannah Cree Johnson Botley and her husband, Jody of Kinder and Woodland Fox Cloud of Oakdale, LA; one special granddaughter, Samantha Giles of Oakdale, LA; two great grandchildren, Arian Botley and Braysen Clay Botley of Kinder, LA; three sisters, Ruby Lee Fontenot of Opelousas, LA, Marsha Kaye Perkins Stokes of Alexandria, LA and Margie Sue Doyle and her husband, Harold of Glenmora, LA; three sister-in-laws, Gloria Faye Cloud, Velma Cloud and Jean Cloud and a host of nieces and nephews. A special thanks goes out to St. Joseph Hospice workers who lovingly cared for him with compassion and the VA Homebased Primary Care team. Thanks to friends and neighbors who came by to visit, bring food and help in any way they could.
