Charlotte’s Obituary Charlotte J. Ackerman, age 93 of Monroe, WI, passed away on Saturday, June, 8, 2019 at Aster Retirement Community in Monroe. She was born December 8, 1925 in Brodhead, WI; the daughter of the late Walter and Katherine (Nipple) Garde. She was a graduate of Brodhead High School. Charlotte married Melvin Ackerman on December 26, 1946; he passed on September 13, 1968. She worked for TDS Telephone Co in Monroe and was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Monroe. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, traveling, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Beatrice Ackerman of San Antonio, TX, Charmel (Steven) Sutter of Monroe, Denise (Robert) Huffman of Monroe and; grandchildren Dan (Amy) Sutter of Cincinnati, OH, Gwen Sutter of Monroe , Jacob Huffman of Monroe, Taylor (Heather Hale) Huffman of Footville, WI; great grandchildren, Avery Huffman and Carter Hale. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; brother, Stanley and sister in-law, Vivian Garde; son-in-law, Fred Castellanos; and special friend, Paul Carroll of Durand, IL. Charlotte has donated her body to the UW Madison Medical School. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
