Memorial services for Charles L. “Chuck” Wesson, 89, of Alto, will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 12:00 Noon at Shafer Funeral Home in Lufkin with Rev. Kevin Poage and Fr. Raymundo Garcia officiating. Mr. Wesson was born March 17, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Coy Lee Wesson and Edna (Thompson) Wesson, and died Tuesday, June 25, 2019 in Nacogdoches, Texas. Mr. Wesson was a member of Clawson Assembly of God Church. He served in the United States Marine Corp and worked as an engineer for Western Electric. Mr. Wesson was a model train hobbyist and loved John Wayne movies. He loved to travel, go on cruises, and enjoyed going to Disney World. Mr. Wesson is survived by his son, Charles Wesson Jr. of Oregon; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Milton Wagner of Alto, TX; daughter, Joan Wesson of Chicago, IL; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Paul Fisher of Aurora, CO; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Jennifer Wesson of Humble, TX; son, Kenneth Wesson of Denver, CO; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Jeff Dickehage of Westminster, CO; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Allen Wesson; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Theresa Wesson; daughter, Mary Mahan; sister, Yvonne Gunther; and brother, Johnny Wesson. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Wesson, Kenneth Wesson, Tanner Frederick, Shane Frederick, and Ray Frederick. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Shafer Funeral Home, Lufkin directors.
