Charles Jennings Smith Jr. of Lumberton, North Carolina April 16, 1966 – June 28, 2019 Charles (Jay) Smith Jr., 53, passed away Friday, June 28, 2019 at home in Lumberton, NC. He was born April 16, 1966 in Robeson County to the late Treva P. Smith and Charles J. Smith, Sr. Jay worked at the DMV for 10 years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Treva P. Smith; his grandparents: Harvey Smith, Sr. and Fleta Smith, Wade Prevatte and Voline Prevatte and his aunt, Mary Morgan. He is survived by his father, Charles J. Smith, Sr. of Lumberton; his brother, Bob Smith, wife Michelle and niece Cara of Jamison, PA; and two special people in his life, Wayne Britt and wife, Francis. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Floyd Memory Gardens in Lumberton at 10:00 a.m. Friends are invited to attend Mr. Smith’s visitation on Monday July 1, 2019 at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory, Inc., 809 E. 5th St., Lumberton, from 6:00-8:00pm.
