Catherine A. “Cathy” Donovan, 68, of Bernard, Iowa and formerly of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019 at UnityPoint Health – Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 19th, 2019 at Sacred Heart Fillmore Church with Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 18th, 2019 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where a wake service will be at 3:00 p.m. Family and friends may also gather after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home until 11:00 a.m. Cathy was born on June 22, 1950 in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of John and Arlene (Hesseling) Meisenburg. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1968. She worked various jobs in Dubuque and helped Pat on the family farm. Cathy loved playing cards, reading, crocheting, and spending time with family. On November 24, 1972 she was united in marriage to Patrick F. “Pat” Donovan at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Dubuque, Iowa. She was a member of Sacred Heart Fillmore. She is survived by her husband, Pat Donovan, of Bernard, IA; children, Angie Donovan of Platteville, WI and her children, Sean, Connor, Logan, and Aidan; Kelly (Jeremy) Foht, of Dubuque, IA and their children Dustin, Derek, and Brittany; Kevin (Melissa) Donovan of Bernard, IA and their children Nathan, Kylie, and Kaiden; and Jeff (Linnea) Donovan, of Texas and their children Kaitlin, Nicholas, Noah, and Ethan. Siblings, Jack Meisenburg of New Hampshire, Linda (Dave) Kohn, Dennis Meisenburg, Robert Meisenburg, Jim Meisenburg, and Vicki (Jeff) Doyle, all of Dubuque, and Ron (Shelly) Meisenburg of Tennessee; brothers and sisters-in law, Janet (James) Hanks of Des Moines, IA and Phyllis (Fred) Urbain of Epworth, IA; along with numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her father and mother-in-law, Clifford and Lucille Donovan; grandson, Kevin Donovan, Jr; brother, Gary Meisenburg, sister-in-law, Nita Meienburg, sister-in-law Sharon (Larry) McDermott.
