Brenda Gale Bradley Johnston, age 73, of Marion, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Autumn Care of Marion. The daughter of the late William and Jennie Phipps Bradley, she was born in Buncombe County, North Carolina on August 11, 1945. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eugene Johnston; one daughter, Lori Johnston; and two sisters, Barbara Pratt and Wanda Hernandez. Brenda, prior to her health declining, enjoyed cooking; and was an avid reader. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, friends and especially her canine companions. She is survived by four children, Debra Johnston Hyder (John), Ricky Johnston (Betsey), Shirley Johnston and Charles Johnston (Tina); two brothers, William Frederick Bradley, Jr. (Mickie) and James Kenneth Bradley (Faye Rhodes Greene); numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. In keeping with Brenda’s wishes, no services are planned.
