Betty’s Obituary Betty H. Scarborough, 85, of Little Rock, AR and formerly of Shiremanstown, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock, AR. Born November 1, 1933 in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late James Paul and Ida May (Thomas) Harry. Betty graduated from Camp Hill High School in 1951 and the Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia in 1954. As a Registered Nurse, she loved caring for others. Prior to her retirement, Betty was an office manager for her husband’s insurance agency in Camp Hill for 36 years. Betty helped launch the original PTA for Shiremanstown Elementary School. She was a founding member of West Shore Free Church, Mechanicsburg. She had served in the nursery, and was a member of the Berean Sunday School class. Family was a lifelong passion and priority and fueled her love of studying genealogy. Betty loved to support her sons in scouting, sports and school activities. She was an enthusiastic fan of the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Baltimore Orioles. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Nelson Scarborough. She was also preceded by two siblings, Margaret McDermott and James Harry. She is survived by two sons, William D Scarborough and wife Carol of Little Rock, AR and David N. Scarborough and wife Stacey Snowden of Ashburn, VA; a sister, Evelyn Hower and her husband Fred of Camp Hill and her four grandsons, Nathan, Justin, Connor and Kyle. Her loss will also be felt by several nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, June 21, 2019 at West Shore Free Church, 1345 Williams Grove Road, Mechanicsburg. Viewing will take place from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill. Read More
