Bernard J. Bower Jr., 76, of Loyalsock, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019 at Aristacare at Loyalsock. Bernard was born December 18, 1942 in Williamsport. He was a son of the late Bernard J. Sr. and Katherine M. (Hunter) Bower. Bernard served his country in the Air Force. He worked for Bethlehem Steel in Williamsport and transferred to Burns Harbor in Indiana where he worked until his retirement in 2003. Bernard enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was very proud of his boat that he used to go salmon fishing on Lake Michigan. He was a member of his family’s hunting club; Little Harbor. Bernard cherished the time he spent with his family. He loved going to watch his grandchildren’s sports games and dance recitals. Bernard is survived by his children; Lisa Bower of Jersey Shore and Yvette Graver (Thomas) of Montoursville, grandchildren; Collin and Alyssa Graver, brother; Donald Bower (Marianne) of South Carolina, and sister; Barbara Emig (Larry) of Williamsport. A funeral service to honor the life of Bernard will be held 7 p.m., Thursday, June 13 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave, Williamsport. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the time of service.
