Barbara A. (Odabashian) Sawula, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Life Care Center of Wilbraham. Born July 26, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Edwin T. and Mildred (Franson) Odabashian. She retired after many years as a mail handler for the United States Postal Service. Barbara was predeceased by two beloved daughters Veronica Spivey and Victoria Sawula, and her husband, Henry Sawula. She is survived by three loving children, Barbara J. Nubile and husband Allan of Williamsburg; Joette St. George of Springfield; and Michael Sawula of Ludlow; nine cherished grandchildren, Sasha and Jesse Rasid, Alex, Erik, Julia and Jovan Diaz, Nicole Sawula, and Mark and Daryll Spivey; and many great-grandchildren. Barbara is also survived by two brothers, Reginald Odabashian and wife Bonnie, and Albert Odabashian and wife Anne. She was predeceased by her brother, Edwin Odabashian. She will be dearly missed by her good friends Sandy Sparks and Gail Mazza. At Barbara’s request there are no services. Memorial contributions can be made to the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care, 3350 Main Street, Springfield, MA 01199.
