Arthur’s Obituary Arthur Bishop Boggs, 70 years old, of London, Kentucky went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday morning, June 19, 2019 at St. Joseph hospital, London, Kentucky. Bishop was born July 10, 1948 in Oneida, Kentucky to Arthur and Alice Boggs, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Launia Osbourne Boggs of London, Kentucky. Bishop and Launia had just celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on June 3rd. Bishop is also survived by one daughter, Barbara Kay and her husband Ernie; by two grandchildren, Erica Moore of London, Kentucky and Austin and wife Jennifer, also of London. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Kinzley, Brantley, and Damien, all of London, Kentucky. He is also survived by one sister, Eva Jane Jones and husband Denver of London, Kentucky; two brothers, J.R. Boggs, Annville, Kentucky and Keith Boggs, Carrolton, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by six brothers: Rufus, Jesse, Ed, Marcus, Melvin and Bobby and by three sisters: Hassie Watson, Ulla Alleshouse and Wanda Sue Dalton. Bishop is loved by so many who mourn his passing: both his Boggs and Osbourne families as well as his church family. He had such a kind and humble personality and never spoke unkindly of anyone. Bishop’s life reflected his truly Christian nature. He was a sociable person who in his younger years had loved to fish and play horseshoes with friends. He used to love the good times after church on Sunday when the family would gather in at Mom’s for visiting, good food and sometimes good gospel singing. Bishop loved all his family, but his daughter Barbara held a very special place in his heart and his wife Launia was truly his soul mate, and he prayed faithfully for his daughter, wife and grandchildren. Bishop loved Launia’s Osbourne family like his Boggs family and Clayborne, Bonnie, Pearl, Gracie, Dorothy, Peggy, Will, Lonnie, Noah, Jack and Issac like his very own brothers and sisters. Faithfully serving the Lord was the most important thing in Bishop’s life. He loved going to church and the fellowship he knew there with his Christian brothers and sisters. What a comfort it is to know that Christ has said to him, “Welcome home, Bishop, my true and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of the Lord.” Read More
