Mrs. Annie Bishop Cobb, age 89, of 560 Ingram Street, Danville, departed this life for her heavenly home on Monday, June 10, 2019, at her residence. Mrs. Cobb was born in Sylva, NC on July 27, 1929 to the late Joseph R. Bishop and Pearl Smith Bishop. She was married to George Robertson Cobb, Jr. who predeceased in April 07, 2014. She was also predeceased by a son, George R. Cobb, III; a step-son, Larry Cobb; brothers, Quentin Bishop of Sylva, NC, and Carroll Bishop and Thomas Bishop of Franklin, NC. She retired from Porter Disston Tool Company after several years of service. She was a member of The Tabernacle. Mrs. Cobb is survived by a son, Brad Bishop (Margaret) of Franklin, NC,; a step-son, Steven Cobb; sisters, Peggy Arnold of Danville, VA, and Joey Cochran of Franklin, NC; brothers, J. R. Bishop of Marrieta, GA, Roger Bishop (Joyce) and Mark Bishop (Linda) of Franklin, NC; granddaughter, Kim Bishop, and two great-grandchildren. Many nephews and nieces also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Cobb will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 14, 2019, at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Danny Campbell and Reverend Joey Bray officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Barker Funeral Home Chapel one hour before the service. Barker Funeral Home is respectfully serving the Cobb family.
