Alva Nell Yandell Tecumseh resident Alva Nell Yandell, 83, died Tuesday, June 18, at Shawnee Colonial Estates nursing home. She was born Dec. 26, 1935, in Spiro, Okla. to E.P. (Jack) and Blanche Chapman. She graduated from McLoud High School in 1954 and retired from Wolverine Tube Inc. in 1998 where she had worked for 20 years. She married Jesse L. Yandell in 1992 in Shawnee. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a brother, E. Allen Chapman. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Lela Lucy and Tim Holmes of Stilwell, Kansas; three sons and daughters-in-law, John and Dawn Lucy of Garland, Texas, Paul and Gina Lucy of Broken Arrow, and Stephen and Lori Jones of Tecumseh; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-granddaughters; nephews Erin Chapman of Edmond, and Kevin Chapman of Oklahoma City; and niece Diana Morgan of Tulsa. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating.
