Allen’s Obituary Allen Carl Welch, 88, of Groves passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 17, 1931 to his parents, Oswald Welch and Edith Hall Welch in Port Arthur, Texas. Allen was a lifelong resident of the area. He served in the U. S. Marine Corp during the Korean War. Allen retired from Chevron as a boilermaker after 38 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Elsie Marie Welch. Allen is survived by his daughter, Cindy Burke of Groves, two grandchildren, Troy Shiflet of Groves, Tara Shiflet of El Paso, Texas and his great grandson, Allen Shiflet of Groves, his sister, Phyllis Hebert of Seabrook, Texas, his niece, Deana Broussard and his nephew, Allen Broussard and wife, Dawn. Visitation will be on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves Service to honor Allen’s life will be at 2:00 PM Monday in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson.
