Mares, age 75, entered into eternal life, Sunday June 9, 2019 at Harlingen Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones. She was born February 7, 1944 in San Benito, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Alfredo Leal and Amelia De La Rosa Leal. She leaves behind to cherish her beautiful memory her two sons, Larry (Christine) Mares, Rene (Corrine) Mares, honorary son, Victor Garcia (Norma); Grandchildren, Ashleigh M. Trevino (Joshua), Rene Mares Jr. (Lizet), Taylor Danielle Mares, Bryan Nicholas Mares (Serena Garcia), Lawrence Ryan Mares; Great Grandson, Michael Alexander Mares, four sisters, Amelia, Armila, Norma and Irma. She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces other relatives and friends. Alicia is preceded in death by her husband, Hilario Mares Jr., and siblings, Edio, Carlos, Alfredo, Olga and Lidia. A Private Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 10:00 am where she will be laid to rest with her late husband. Honored to be her pallbearers will be her son, Larry Mares, Victor Garcia and grandsons, Rene Mares Jr., Bryan Mares, Ryan Mares and Joshua Trevino.
