Adetola J. Araba July 24, 1968 – June 05, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Adetola, Temitope, Temitayo, Jacqueline, Araba, went home to be with the Lord on June 5, 2019, in Croydon, PA at the age of 50. Adetola was born to Olayiwola and Funmi-Joy Araba, in Lagos Nigeria, on July 24, 1968, their first child. At a very early age, she attended St Catherine’s Model School for her primary education. She went on to attend Lagos Anglican Girls’ Grammar School in Lagos Nigeria, from 1979 to 1984 finishing her O-Level and completing her A levels at Methodist Girls High School, Lagos, Nigeria the following year. She went on to the University of Lagos to complete her first degree in Microbiology, and served in the Nigerian Youth Service Core (NYSC) in 1990. She got her first job at the Microbiology lab at NNPC where she worked for about a year before relocating to the US with her siblings. The Family relocated to the US in Oct 1991, where Adetola took the lead in helping her sibling acclimate to their new life. At the age of 23, she was the caretaker and breadwinner for all her siblings. She took various jobs to make ends meet; working overnight at a gas station, a Teacher’s Aide at West Oak Lane Church of God, and working in Qualex a photo developing factory for several years. Adetola went on to get a Post Baccalaureate in Medical Technology from Thomas Jefferson University. She worked for a few years at the University of Pennsylvania in the Pathology lab. From a very age, Adetola had aspirations to be a Pharmacist; so it was no surprise when she took up her education at Temple School of Pharmacy while holding various jobs. She graduated with her Pharmacy Degree in 1999. She went on to work at various Pharmacies; Rite Aid, Walgreens and finally at Walmart. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God was evident in everything she did and was the defining characteristic of her life. She was known for her Kindness and generosity; she supported many philanthropic causes and various families near and far, mostly anonymously. Her family and friends are deeply saddened at the loss of this most diplomatic, humble and gentle Evangelist. Adetola is survived by her parents, Funmi-Joy Araba of New Jersey, US and Olayiwola Araba of Lagos, Nigeria; and her siblings Olabisi, Adeoti, Omolola, Kayode, Omonike and Afolabi.
