Susan Jean Winchel Hoskins, 76, passed away on May 24th 2019 from complications due to back surgery. She was born December 8, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Charles Max and Evelyn Irene Draper Winchel. She married Franklin Theodore (Ted) Hoskins on November 8, 1963. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake temple. They moved to Provo in 1964 and have lived in their Orem home for 43 years. Some of her favorite memories were: meeting Ted, their trip to Maui, visiting on her front porch, feeding the blue jays, sharing her Asian pears, teaching personal safety, learning calligraphy, painting landscapes, playing cards, going out to lunch, watching the hummingbirds, still putting tinsel on her Christmas tree, working at WordPerfect, caffeine free diet coke (with LOTS of ice), and most of all dancing with Ted. We will miss that perfect smile, twinkling hazel eyes, infectious laugh, burning testimony and total acceptance of who you are! Thank you to Timpanogos Hospital paramedics, emergency room, and 4th floor nursing staff. Dr. Reese was so honest, clear, and full of concern for my mom. We also can’t imagine how we would’ve made it through this without the nursing and physical therapy staff at Stonehenge of Orem. We couldn’t have done Friday night without Janae and Christine. Life just won’t be the same without my mom. I’m so happy to think of my parents dancing again. “Mom, I can’t wait to see you again…I’ll be sure to bring your lip balm.” She is survived by her daughter, Laura (Mike) Zamora of Orem, 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, and husband Ted. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 31st at 11:00 am in the Aspen 1st Ward chapel at 965 W 2000 N Orem, Utah. Visitation will be held prior to services from 9:30-10:30 am. Condolences may be sent to the family on this page.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Susan Jean Winchel Hoskins December 8 1942 May 24 2019 (age 76).
