Mary Louise Peebles Franks, 93, passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Goldsboro Assisted Living. Mary was born in Wake County on September 2, 1925 to the late Herbert Lemuel Peebles and Minnie Crawley Peebles. She was married to the late Dwight Moody Franks, Jr. Mary was a beloved teacher’s assistant at Meadow Lane Elementary School where she devoted her life to children. She enjoyed the opportunities given to her by helping to impact the lives of so many children. Mary was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Barbato and I.K. Williamson presiding. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Montlawn Cemetery in Raleigh. Mary is survived by her sons, Dwight Moody Franks III and wife Linda of Goldsboro and Charles Lane Franks of Sumpter, SC; grandchildren, Robert Franks and wife Emily, Jonathan Franks and wife Aubrey, Joshua Franks, Mackinzie Franks and Haley Franks; and brother, Robert Peebles and wife Carolyn of Raleigh. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Herbert Peebles, William Peebles and John Peebles. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in her memory to Madison Avenue Baptist Church, 300 S. Madison Avenue, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
