Harold Douglas Richardson, 84, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019 at his home. Harold was born in Johnston County on September 13, 1934 to the late Homer and Eula Little Richardson. He began working with the Naval Shipyard in Newport News, Virginia and later moved back to Pikeville where he began a career in construction until his retirement. Harold was a member of Nahunta Friends Church and had been a member of the Little River Volunteer Fire Department. A service to celebrate Harold’s life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Nahunta Friends Church with Eric Woods officiating. The family will greet friends on Thursday following the service in Friends Hall at Nahunta Friends Church. Entombment will be on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Aycock Family Cemetery. Harold is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Carol Richardson; sons, Ricky Richardson and John Richardson; grandchildren, Amanda Richardson and Amber Driver; three great-grandchildren and his brother, Elbert Richardson and wife Betty Jo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Richardson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his memory to Nahunta Friends Church, 2537 Hwy. 581 North, Pikeville, NC 27863.
