Margaret J. Peterson, 88, formerly of Octavia, died Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Bryan Medical Center West in Lincoln. Memorials: In Care of the Family Margaret was born on March 1, 1931 at New Raymer, Colorado to Joy and Beatrice (Simmons)Whited. She attended local schools and on December 3, 1945, she married Orin Peterson. Five children were born to this union. Margaret and Orin moved to Octavia in 1970. She went to work at the Butler County Hospital in the Laundry and kitchen areas, where she stayed for over 25 years. Margaret enjoyed her family, crossword puzzles, quilting, flowers, country music “oldies” and traveling. She had a special love for her dog, “BUDDY” and taking her weekly gambling trip. Margaret is survived by her daughters: Amy (Arnold) Kment of Schuyler, Shirley (Sonny) Bokelmann of Seward and Charlotte (Mike) Volnek of Seward. Four sisters: Lilly(Lee) Steele of Scottsbluff, NE, Eleanor McKinney of Illiff, CO, Diane Murphy of Florida and Connie May of Colorado. 9 Grandchildren, 19 Great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Orin in 1991, and two sons: Darrel & Robert Peterson.
