Mr. Don Johnson, age 78, of Covington, GA, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, June 1st at Wheeler Funeral Services in Covington. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Don was born in Prattville, Alabama on March 17, 1941 to Woodrow Wilson and Odie Neely Johnson who have preceded him in death. Mr. Johnson was a member of Unity East of Atlanta Church. He was a biologist with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, a career he began in 1967 upon graduation from Auburn University. Mr. Johnson was an accomplished sporting clays shooter on state and national levels traveling to competitions and tournaments for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by three sisters Edwina Bales, Shirley Kopf, and Fay Seamon and two brothers Bruce Johnson and twin Ronald Johnson. He is survived by his wife Teresa Johnson, daughter Jenny Johnson McCall of Nashville, TN, and son Kevin Johnson of Huntsville, AL, his grandchildren Jamie Rice and C.J. Rice, his great grandchildren Madison, and Brantley, he is also survived by his sister Kay Parton, his brothers Herbie Johnson, and Johnny Johnson all of Prattville along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.
