Barbara’s Obituary Barbara Jean Miller, 78, of Marietta, Georgia went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2019. She was surrounded by family and friends at her home. Barbara Jean was born July 22, 1940, in Centre, Alabama. She was the third child of five children to the late Horace Lee Bettis and Sarah Lois Bettis. Left to cherish her memory are her love and companion, Jerry L. Price of Marietta, GA; her children, Nicholas C. Kavadellas and wife Lisa of Woodstock, Georgia, and Stefanos C. Kavadellas and his companion Denise House of Marietta, Georgia; her grandchildren, Alexandra K. Lavery and her husband Mark, Amanda S. Kavadellas, Kathryn N. Kavadellas, Chris S. Kavadellas, and Caroline N. Kavadellas; her sisters, Rebecca A. Beasley, Elizabeth C. Buckner, and Joyce B. Roberts and her husband Hugh; and one great-grandchild on the way. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will miss her very much. Along with her parents, Barbara Jean was preceded in death by her third husband, Charles L. Miller; her second husband, John E. Cantrell; her first husband Chris K. Kavadellas; one son, John E. Cantrell; and one brother, Harold E. Bettis. Barbara Jean was a devoted member of Eastland Heights Baptist Church. She was also a dedicated school bus driver for Cobb County for 38 years. This year she would celebrate her 40th year in Georgia Elkdom. She was a member of the Marietta Elks Aidmore Auxiliary and served as president numerous times. She was also a past state president for the Georgia Elks Aidmore Auxiliary and served on numerous committees. Barbara Jean was full of life and cherished every moment with her family and friends. She was an incredible cook and loved to bake; her wonderful recipes will be cherished forever. She also loved to travel and was a true example of living life to the fullest. She was the most wonderful mother, grandmother and friend, and she has gifted all of her loved ones with the most special memories. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019, at the Marietta Funeral Home, 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066.
