Royce, age 75, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. He was a longtime resident of Holden, LA. Royce was a member of the Carpenters Local 1098 and served on the board for Farm Bureau. He was a true Christian man who was a faithful member of New Beginnings Church in Loranger. Royce was an extremely hard worker who took great pride in providing for his family. He enjoyed being outdoors and going fishing, but mostly he enjoyed being surrounded by his family. Royce was an incredible father and loving Paw Paw who is already deeply missed. Royce is survived by his son, Royce Martin Jr. and wife Karelli; daughters, Carolyn Carpenter, Debra K. Cook, Pamela Berthelot and husband Darrell, and Darlene Autrey and husband Roy; sister, Margaret “Meg” Adams and husband Doug; brothers, Dennis Martin and wife Pennie, James Martin and wife Sky, Reggie Martin, C.W. Martin and wife Lea; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Martin; parents, Jessie and Juanita Martin; brother, Jessie Lee Martin; and grandson, Joseph Lee Stewart. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson, Hammond, on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Bro.
