ATHOL – Nelson “Nussie” Duguay, 81 of Athol passed away Monday, January 28th in Quabbin Valley Health Care, Athol. Nelson was born on November 20, 1937 in Athol to the late Hyacinthe Duguay and the late Anna (Savoy) Duguay. He grew up in Athol and graduated from Athol High School. He was a machinist at the L. S. Starrett Tool Company until his retirement. Nussie enjoyed fishing with his buddies, music, he played the drums in the band Nutones, He was a part of the CB Club and also enjoyed horseshoes, softball and archery. One of his greatest joys was feeding the Bald Eagle over at Lake Mattawa. He leaves his wife of fifty six years; Kathleen M. (Yonker) Duguay of Athol; two daughters: Susan Laford and her husband Derek of South Deerfield, Shelley Ploof and her husband Dana of New Salem; one grandchild: Kylie Laford; four sisters: Marie Songer, Jeannette Capone, Lorinda Holmes, Edna Mallet; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers: John, Edwin “Smokey”, Richard, Wilbert and Leonard; two sisters: Laura Duguay, Margurite Duguay. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019 from 1-4pm at the Franco American National Club 592 South St. Athol.
