Lilly Hancock 2019

Lilly M. Hancock, age 79, of Hot Springs, died Sunday, January 27, 2019. Lilly loved her family with a passion that was immeasurable. She leaves behind a legacy founded on love, determination, and a commitment to family. She has left a void that cannot be filled, but her family lives with the peace that she is in the arms of her loving Savior. She was born on March 3, 1939, in Amity, the daughter of William Jasper Pittman and Nora Miracle Pittman. On April 24, 1959, she married Robbie Hancock. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Kenneth Pittman; and one sister, Elsa Doss. Lilly was a member of First Primitive Baptist Church in Hot Springs. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Henderson State University and her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Arkansas. She worked as a librarian for many years working for the Cutter Morning Star, Glenwood and Mountain Pine school districts. She loved traveling and taking cruises around the country. Her hobbies included spending time with her family and reading. Lilly is survived by her husband, Robbie Hancock of Hot Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Julia Hancock of Bismarck and Bradley and Jennifer Hancock of Enid, Oklahoma; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Leslie Dockery, Janet and Darrin Taylor and Dorinda and Keith Thomas, all of Hot Springs; twelve grandchildren, Parker Hancock, Sydney Hancock, Becki and Josh Chronister, Kyle Thomas, Kennedy Hancock, Audrey Hancock, Macy Hancock, Chelsea and Cameron Hall, Chance Taylor, Allie Roles, Taylor Snellback and Allana Snellback; three great-grandchildren, Grayson Hall, Isaac Chronister and Leo Chronister; special family, Steve and Marti Snellback; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 31, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs with Bro. James Owens and Bro. Danny Loy officiating. Interment will be in Jones Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday evening. Pallbearers will be Cameron Hall, Josh Chronister, Parker Hancock, Chance Taylor and Kyle Thomas. Words cannot express the love and gratitude we have for the wonderful ladies that cared for mom over the last 18 months. The impact they made on our lives and our mother’s life will not be forgotten.
