Joan Marie Hayes-Wasson, age 72, a homemaker of Stratton, OH passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the Acuity Specialty Hospital, Weirton, WV. She was born December 12, 1946 in Steubenville, OH. Joan was dedicated homemaker; loved to cook and go to garage and yard sales. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph E. Hayes, Sr. and Margaret (Swartz) Hayes; sister, Linda Kay Allison in 1976 and brothers, Ralph E. Hayes, Jr. in 1996 and Billy B. Hayes in 1997. Joan is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Wasson; sons, James (Aimee) DeFrank of Georgia, Troy DeFrank of the home and Chad (Danielle) Weaver of Bloomingdale, OH; daughter, Christy Weaver (Martin) Hoffman of Stratton, OH; grandchildren, Zachary and Joshua DeFrank, Tyler, Brady, Jacob and Savannah Weaver and Kylee Hoffman; sister, Marjorie (Ronald) Sines of Toronto, OH; brothers, Kenneth (Sharon) Hayes of Toronto, OH and Gary (Cindy) Hayes of Steubenville, OH. She also leaves behind her dog Cocoa.
