Mrs. Salter was born and raised in Conecuh County. She had worked with Vanity Fair in the lace department and was a member of Arkadelphia Baptist Church. Mrs. Salter is preceded in death by her parents; Melvin and Edna Smith Johnson, her husband; Charles Melton Salter, a son, Dennis Salter, one brother, J.W. Johnson, a grandson, Conan Ivey and one great grandson, Nathan Ivey. Survivors include her three sons; Greg Salter and wife Melva of Belleville, Scott Salter and wife Pat of Lyeffion and Stephen Salter and wife Donna of Excel. Two Daughter; Debbie Salter Sargent of Evergreen and Beryl Ivey and husband Robert of Repton. Two brothers; Douglas Johnson of Andalusia and Charles Johnson of Monroeville and one sister; Edna Davis of Evergreen. Nineteen Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren and three Great Great Grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Willene Salter will be Sunday, January 13, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. James officiating. Burial will follow in Arkadelphia Cemetery in Conecuh County (for those meeting at the cemetery the time should be approximately 3:00 PM). Visitation for Mrs. Salter will be Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to Pilots for Christ at P.O. Box 707 Monroeville, AL 36461 or a Charity of Choice.
