Obituary for Doris Wigand (Sparks) Doris Sparks Miller Wigand, age 69, Johnson City, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was a native of Flag Pond but lived most of her life in Washington County and a daughter of the late Lewis Sparks, Jr and Betty Bennett Sparks. Doris was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving and devoted mother, mamaw, sister and aunt. Doris loved all people with her kind, loving heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Kennith Miller; two sons: Vestil and Marty Miller; two brothers: Jeff and Allen Wayne Sparks. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one son: Freddie Miller, Unicoi; two daughters: Penny Lynn Shaw and Erin Michele Miller, both of Johnson City; one brother, Gary Sparks (Jackie), Jonesborough; one sister, Judy Stanley (James), Johnson City; eight grandchildren: Dustin Miller, Brandie Shaw, Jason Miller, Amber Hilton, Stephanie Miller, Britney Carter, Whitney Carter and Tabatha Miller; two special great grandchildren: Triston Miller and Dizea Miller; several more great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Kevin Laws will officiate at the 2:00 P.M. funeral service. Pallbearers will be Whitney Carter, Cody Shaw, Mark Lung, Kevin Sparks, Cody Gouge and Dusty Miller. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memory Gardens.
