Obituary for Betty Ellen Jett (McFerrin) Betty Ellen Jett, age 72 of Holland passed away in the early morning hours on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 in a local hospital. Betty was born on May 27, 1946 in Cameron to R.T. and Ruth (Butterfield) McFerrin. Betty married Danny Jett 51 years ago in Belton. Betty lived in Holland most of her life and is a member of the First United Methodist Church. She graduated from Holland High School and then went on to earn her Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. Betty retired from Scott & White Hospital after 30 years. She was only retired about 11 months when she decided to go to work for Holland ISD. She worked at the school for 11 years in Human Resources. She is preceded in death by her parents R.T and Ruth, her step-father “Papa” Joe Beasley, and a brother Robert “Bob” McFerrin. Left to cherish Betty’s memory is her husband Danny of Holland, her daughter Jennifer Brown of Holland, her son Daniel Craig Jett of Temple, as well as her three grandchildren Corey, Daniel Clay and Kyleah. She will also be greatly missed by her four sisters Naomi, Edie, Kathryn and Sandra, her two brothers Lewis and R.T. Jr , along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Memorial services for Betty will be held at a later date. Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple is entrusted with the arrangements.
