Obituary for Charles J. Dipollina Print Charles J. Dipollina, 93, of High St., Westerly, passed away at the Westerly Health Center on Sunday, January 27, 2019. He was the husband of the late Josephine (Dolce) Dipollina who predeceased him in 1998. Born in Pawcatuck, he was the son of the late Charles and Grace Dipollina. Charles worked as a printer for The Westerly Sun for many years. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and UCONN Women’s Basketball and also loved watching and playing tennis. He was a US Army veteran of WWII who served during D-Day and Normandy. He is survived by his children, Russell Dipallina of Floral Park, NY, and Gloria Mathews and Charlene Dipallina, both of Westerly; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Tessa Dipallina. He was predeceased by several siblings. A visiting hour will be held on Thursday, January 31st from 9:30a.m.-10:30a.m. at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11am at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm St., Westerly. Burial will be at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
