Carol’s Obituary Carol M. Kroon, 81 of Paxton, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at Accolade Healthcare of the Heartland, Paxton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 4, 2019, at Baier Family Funeral Services, 406 E. Pells Street, Paxton with Josh Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, February 3, at the funeral home. Carol was born April 27, 1937, at Champaign the daughter of Paul and Pearl NIcewander Currie. She married Darrel Kroon April 6, 1957 at the First United Methodist Church, Paxton. He survives. Along with her husband, Darrel, she is survived by a daughter, Cathy (Ken) Breeden of rural, Loda; three sons, David Kroon of Savoy, Rick Kroon of Gibson City, Bob (Sheila) Kroon of Gibson City; six grandchildren, Stacey (Steve) Day, Stephanie (Josh) Johnson, Jessica and Adam Puls, Molly and Cally Kroon; five great grandchildren, Hailey, Griffin and Wesley Johnson and Makenzi and Tia Day; and a brother, Erle (Jean) Currie of Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents. Carol graduated from Paxton High School in 1955. Along with being a homemaker, she was a floral designer and had also worked at Heritage Nursing Home, Gibson City. She was a member of the Methodist Church, U of I Home Extension, Prospect Chapter No. 367 O.E.S. and was one of the first to go through The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Paxton.
