Barbara Ann Holmes, daughter of Geraldine (Johnson) and the late Marion Dashiell, Sr., was born on May 30, 1954 in Salisbury, Maryland. She went home to be with the Lord on January 25, 2019, in Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care at Christiana Hospital. Barbara graduated from Howard High School of Technology. She enjoyed a career at DuPont that lasted more than 20 years until the Medical Products Division was sold. Barbara would go on to start a second career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for about 15 years until her illness progressed. Barbara was known for cooking the biggest and best meals. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching sports and going to Delaware Park. Loving her family was Barbara’s greatest joy. Barbara was predeceased by her father and sister, Phyllis Dashiell. Barbara leaves to cherish her memory: Husband, Wendell Holmes; Son, Shantell W. Holmes; Daughter, Kimberly Holmes; Granddaughter, Shantelle L. Holmes; Grandson, Travis Holmes; Mother, Geraldine Johnson; Sisters, Valerie Henry (William) and Yvonne Dashiell; Brother, Marion Dashiell, Jr. (Carolyn); Aunts, Mary Smith (Charles) and Justine Wiggins (John); Devoted Niece, Marvette Dashiell Queen; Nephews, DeMario Dashiell and Dimitri Dashiell; Mother In-Law, Josephine Holmes; Sisters In-Law, Delphine Scott (Edwood) and Burldine Brooks (Larry); Great-Niece and Goddaughter, Danyelle Dashiell; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
