Obituary for Mary Jane Kurtz (Ervin) Watervliet – Mary Jane Kurtz, 78, formerly of Watervliet, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2018 at the Rosewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Toledo, Ohio on April 25, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Olive Ervin. Mary Jane was raised and educated in Watervliet. She enjoyed working several jobs, including working as a waitress, visiting homes as a Licensed Nurse Practitioner, and her favorite hobby/job; selling American Girl Dolls on EBay. When not at work she enjoyed being in the company of her family and friends who meant the world to her. Mary Jane is survived by her children; Barbara (late Richard) Hoenzsch of Johnstown, Daphne (Tom Johnson) Jensen of Lansingburgh, Gary (Doreen) Williams of St. Augustine, FL, and Victoria Hull of Poestenkill. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, her siblings; Patricia Finch, Roseanne Ervin, and David Ervin, and several loving step-children, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold Kurtz and her sister Marjorie McDermott. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 4 until 7 PM at Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, Watervliet. A funeral service will conclude the evening at 7 PM. Interment will take place Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Watervliet.
