John O Borseth 2018

Layton – John Borseth, 66, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away unexpectedly in his home on Monday, December 24. He was born on November 25, 1952 to Frank W. Borseth and Sara White in Ogden, UT. John was raised in Ogden, UT and graduated from Ogden High School in 1971. He married Denese Corkey on September 27, 1973 in the Salt Lake Temple. He attended Weber State University and Utah State University. He was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard of Utah after serving six years. John spent his working career with United Parcel Service, Hercules/Alliant Tech Systems, and the United States Air Force Civil Service. But, perhaps, his favorite time working was with his eldest daughter in her business, helping wherever needed. He had several interests and hobbies. A lover of airplanes, John was interested in all things aviation. This interest led to him skydiving, having a pilot’s license, and flying his own plane. He was interested in photography. John also had a special talent for poetry and music. He was self-taught on the piano and guitar. He had a special sense of humor and was known for his quick wit. John loved and adored his family. He and Denese have three beautiful daughters, Jennifer (Ryan) Goodfellow, Sarah (Trevor) Morris, and Lindsey (Zach) Pearce. They have seven grandchildren, Avery and Hannah Goodfellow, Hayden and Zachary Morris, and Britton, Emmett, and Greyson Pearce. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Borseth Barth. He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 3 at 11 a.m. at the Evans Meadows Ward Chapel, 400 South 2200 West, Layton, UT. A visitation will be held Wednesday evening, January 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road, Layton, UT; and at the church prior to services from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at South Morgan City Cemetery. John had a special love for animals and special needs kids. In lieu of flowers, friends and family may donate to Best Friends Animal Society or Special Olympics.
