OBITUARY Gird Warren Jr. September 18, 1928 – December 28, 2018 Gird Norman Warren, Jr., 90, of Brandon, passed away at Mississippi Care Center in Raleigh on Friday, December 28, 2018. Visitation will be 12:00-2:00pm, Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with interment in Brandon Memorial Gardens. Gird was born September 18, 1928, in Puckett, a son of the late Gird N. Warren, Sr. and Grace Miley Warren. He was a graduate of Brandon High School and Mississippi College. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Gird served our country for four years, which included Overseas Service in Germany. Gird enjoyed a lengthy career in education and athletics. He coached at Coldwater High School, Union High School, Port Gibson High School, Florence High School, and taught at Pearl High School. Later he went into the insurance business. Gird was a charter member of Brandon Baptist Church, a member of Tyrian Lodge #427 F&AM in Brandon, and a member of the Shrine. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of more than fifty years, Juanita Walker Warren; brothers-in-law, Jim Pratt, and Earl Lloyd Walker; and sister-in-law, Myra Jo Walker Wilson. He is survived by his son, Gird N. Warren, III, and wife Rhonda of the Sylvarena Community; granddaughter, Courtney Osborn and husband Brett; great-granddaughter, Graycen Osborn; sister, Gwynn Pratt of Katie, TX; brothers, Joe Warren and wife Betty of Pelahatchie, and Ken Warren and wife Alice of Mountain View, AR; sister-in-law, Maxine Walker of Brookhaven; brother-in-law, Ray Wilson of Cleveland; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
