Lola Mae Donlon Hicks 1936 2018

Obituary for Lola Mae Donlon (Hicks) Lola Mae Hicks Donlon, 82, widow of Thomas R. Donlon, Sr., passed away Thursday, November 01, 2018, at her home. Born August 25, 1936, in Effingham, she was a daughter of the late Robert B. Hicks and the late Sarah Hicks Ford. She was formerly the owner of Mama’s Kitchen. She attended Alice Drive Baptist Church and Smithville Pentecostal Church. Survivors include nine children, Jimmy Aycock, Shirley Simons, Danny Barkley, Donna Donlon Steele (Rudy), Thomas Donlon, Jr. (Keri), Michael S. Donlon, Kerri Donlon, Michele Donlon, and Kimberly Donlon Connor; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Emma Lafond Dennis. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. Hicks; and a sister, Mary D. Bradley. A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday in the Sumter Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Morris officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Donna and Rudy Steele, 795 Lang Jennings Dr. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
