Obituary of Carol Sweigart In the garden of life, a Mother and Nana are the most beautiful flowers of all Carol L. Sweigart, 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep, early Saturday morning, November 10, 2018 at Homeland Center in Harrisburg. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel C. Sweigart Jr. and is survived by her 3 children Robert (Darla), David (Patty) and Cathy (Steve); daughters-in-law Myra and Deb; 8 grandchildren Lynne, Mark, Jessie, Danny, Jennie, Josh, Rebekah and Angela and 17 great grandchildren. Carol was born March 28, 1925 in Harrisburg. Her parents both died at an early age and she was raised by her older sister Catherine and Lester Bell. Carol graduated from William Penn High School. She fell in love and married Sam Sweigart March 14, 1947. Carol and Sam lived on Sixth Street in uptown Harrisburg then moved to the Wedgewood Hills community, where they spent their life raising their family. Carol was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother who adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carol had been a resident at Homeland Center for the past 12 years where she was loved and cared for by many. Carol is now reunited with Sam after 22 years. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 11:00 am, in Faith Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 1801 Colonial Road, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Allison Spooner, her Pastor, Officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am in the church. Burial in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens at the conclusion of services. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services – Harrisburg.
