Carl R. Peil made his journey to be with the Lord on November 15, 2018. Carl was born on May 9, 1936 in the small farming community of Baileys Harbor, WI. He was 1 of 12 children. At age 16, Carl ventured out on his own to work with his brother-in-law. In 1955 Carl enlisted in the U.S. Army where he earned his G.E.D. They eventually settled in Milwaukee and Carl worked for Mantei… Read More » Sheet Metal Works before going into business for himself. He was a custom sheet metal fabricator. Carl retired in 1995. He and Janice moved to Townsend, WI where he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and all the toys he accumulated. One of his favorite toys was a 1931 Model A. On a nice day you could find him giving rides to anyone who was daring enough to go with him. Throughout his life, Carl has always given to others. He spent 10 years working with the Boy Scouts of America and became Cub Master of his sons Pack. Carl was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Townsend. He dedicated himself with his time and talents to anyone in need. He was an elder and was one of the driving forces that established the Christian Food Pantry in 1999, in which he still volunteered until the time of his passing. Carl is survived by Janice (Lund), his beloved wife of 61 years. He was also survived by his loving children, Michael (Karen) Peil of St. Augustine, FL. Kathy Aiello and Robin Vobroucek of Thiensville WI. He was the proud grandfather of Jerrod Aiello, Jason (Corie) Aiello, Mackenzie Peil, Michael Peil Jr., and Charlie Vobroucek. Carl is further survived by two sisters, two brothers, nieces, nephews and numberous friends. A memorial service will be held December 1, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church, 17963 State Highway 32, Townsend, WI 54175. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with service to follow. The American Legion, Post 44, will do a walk through prior to the service, with military honors to follow after the service. A luncheon will be held immediately after the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
