Sandra Lee Rasmussen, 70, of Jupiter, FL, returned home to the Lord on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 10, 1947, in Alexandria, VA, she returned to the area this summer to continue to fight her cancer, with the aid and support of her only son, whom she adored, and was so very proud of. Sandra is survived by her beloved son, Troy Guenthner (Sandra Maxey) of Alexandria, VA; her grandchildren, Amanda (Zachary) and Taylor; great-granddaughter,… Read More » Amelia; her brothers, Rick Lewis (Anita) of Clifton, VA; Tom Lewis (Joan) of Leesburg, VA; and David Lewis (Mary Helen) of Seattle, WA; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Fran Lewis of Alexandria, VA, and her husband, William (Bill) Rasmussen of Juno Beach, FL. Sandra was a successful business woman. She travelled the world with the love of her life, loved to cook, and enjoyed her many friends and family. She made everyone in her life feel special. Her faith and devotion to GOD touched the lives of many around her. She will be deeply missed. A calling of family and friends will be held Saturday, October 20th, from 12:00 to 2:00pm at Jefferson Funeral Chapel, 5755 Castlewellan Drive, Alexandria Virginia, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00pm at the home of Troy Guenthner. A service will be held in Jupiter, Florida at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance at www.ccalliance.org.
