Margaret Martin Covey, wife of Hearl Covey for 55 years, of Jeffersonville, passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018. She was a 72 year old native of Montgomery County, daughter of the late Ed and Elsie Patton Martin, a retired cook from Camargo Elementary after 24 years, and a member of Rocky Branch United Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by 4 daughters, Vicky (Terry) Huff, Jeanette (Terry) Bertram, Opal Marie (Bart) Wells and Rebecca Covey, 3 sons, Eddie Covey, Michael (Tammy) Covey and Sidney (Stephanie) Covey, 16 grandchildren, Miranda (Jerry) Higginbotham, McKenzie Huff, Sarah Covey, Justin Covey, Megan Covey, Gabrielle Covey, Jonathan Turner, Magdalene Covey, Genny Henry, Parker Henry, Christopher Covey, Matthew Covey, Landon Philpot, Sydni Philpot, Mikayla Covey, and Tara Bertram, 6 great-grandchildren, Faith Higginbotham, Hope Higginbotham, Carson Rudd, Morgan Rudd, Lincoln Rudd, and Aria Covey, and 3 sisters, Violet Elliott, Dora Skidmore, and Pearl Lewis. Her funeral will be 11:00 Friday at Rocky Branch United Baptist Church, Brothers, CJ Tackett, Darrell Back and John Blanton presiding, with burial in McGuire Cemetery. Visitation is 6-9:00 Thursday at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Herald & Stewart Home for Funerals.
