Wilburn G. Wheeler, 85, of Kingsford Heights, passed away peacefully at 10:06 p.m., Friday, September 21, 2018 at VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso. He was born March 14, 1933, in McLeansboro, IL, to John Edward and Helen (Cluck) Wheeler. Wilburn formerly worked as a maintenance personnel for Selected Meats, Kingsford Heights and for a meat processing shop in Fish Lake, Indiana. She passed away July 20, 2007. Also preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters, Katherine Caraway, Dottie Gandy and Roberta Boyer; and two brothers, Jimmy and Roy Dan Elder. Surviving are two children, Laura Wehrly of Kingsford Heights and Michael (Roxanne) Wheeler of San Antonio, TX; five grandchildren, Elizabeth (Gordon) Hendricks, Melissa, Robert ad Ryan Wehrly and Julie (Christopher) Merrill; and ten great grandchildren. A funeral celebrating his life will be held at 12 Noon, Friday, September 28, 2018 at Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 with Pastor Craig Forwalter officiating. Visitation and viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Kingsbury Cemetery, Kingsbury, Indiana. Please send condolences to the family at www.LakeviewFHC.com.
