Wayne M. Sword Wayne M. Sword, age 91, passed away at his home in Raytown, on Tuesday August 28, 2018. Wayne was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 11, 1926 to Merritt and Marion (Noble) Sword. Wayne was one of six children, he had three sisters and two brothers. At the age of 17, Wayne joined the Navy where he served in World War II and later in the Korean War. He married Marilyn E. Price on March 25, 1951. They settled and built their home in Raytown, Missouri, where they… Read More » raised their four children. Marilyn and Wayne shared 62 years of marriage before she passed in 2013. Wayne worked as a commercial electrician for 41 years. He was a member of the IBEW Local Union 124. In is retirement years he was active in his church and volunteered with REAP, (Raytown Emergency Assistance Program) in Raytown. Wayne was a lover of museums and history and enjoyed traveling as well as spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his four children, Ivor (Brenda) Sword, of Springfield, MO, Troy (Beverly) Sword of Kansas City, MO, Diana (Tom) Srdich and Aaron (Linda) Sword of Raytown, MO.; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the South Restoration Branch Church, 8105 Raytown Road, Raytown, MO 64138. Donations may be made in Wayne’s name to R.E.A.P.
