Stephanie R. Chaplin, 58, of Woonsocket, died September 16, 2018 in Cumberland RI. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Chaplin and Mary L. (Dandy) Chaplin Watson and the step-daughter of the late James W. Watson. She graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1978 and the University of Rhode Island in 1983. Stephanie was a member of the Autumn Fest Steering committee for many years. She was also a member of the St James Baptist Church in which she served on various committees. Stephanie was a huge child advocate and she worked tirelessly in many capacities throughout the community supporting the youth. She is survived by a son, Seth Imani James Chaplin of Woonsocket; brother, T. Ronald Chaplin and his companion Richard Schull of Woonsocket. Her funeral will be held, Monday, September 24, 2018 with a service at 11am in St. James Baptist Church, 340 South Main Street, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Road, Cumberland. Visitation is Sunday from 3pm to 6pm, with a prayer service to follow at 6pm in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main Street, Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Children’s Cancer Research Fund, 7301 Ohms Lane, Suite 355, Minneapolis, MN 55439.
