Ronald H. Orme was called home on August 31, 2018, after a brief medical battle. In his last days, he was surrounded by beloved family and friends. Born March 13, 1935 to Clarence and Rosemary Orme of Stearns, KY., he spent his youth playing basketball in school and serving as lifeguard at the Stearns Golf Course Pool. He studied at The University of Kentucky and spent his career as a Chemical Engineer with Ashland Oil Company. Ron served in multiple positions and locations, culminating… Read More » in a 7 year assignment in The Sultanate of Oman, then at Ashland’s Corporate Headquarters in Ashland, KY. His retirement was spent in Stearns and Lexington, KY. Ron is survived by: two daughters; Theresa Hughes (Ken), and Joni Stafford (Paul) 3 Grand Children, Sean Stafford (Mary Kate), Christopher Stafford, Leah White (Steven & Liam), all of Lexington, son Larry Orme (Barbara), 4 Grand Children, Rick, Dale, Austin, & Lauren, and 3 great grandchildren. Ron is also survived by three sisters Brenda, Marita, Sandra, 2 nieces and 2 nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at Clark Legacy Center 601 E. Brannon Rd., Nicholasville, KY. 40356 on Saturday, September 8th at 11:00am. A gathering of family and friends will follow until 2:00 pm. www.clarklegacycenter.com
