Robert W. Palenske, 88, passed away peacefully at home on August 29, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 4, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio to Louis and Florence (Hagen) Palenske. He was a graduate of Macomber Vocational High School. Later, he served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 642. He then worked at Anderson’s in Maumee, retiring in 2010. Robert married his loving wife Anna, nee Fodor, in 1956 and together they had two sons, William and Thomas. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donald and Carlton, and an infant sister. He is survived by his cherished wife Anna, sons William and Thomas (Lonnell), grandchildren Joshua (Victoria), Daniel (Chelsea), David and Melissa, brother Milton, and sister JoAnn McBride as well as cherished nephews and nieces. Family and friends will be received at Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, in Toledo. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 4th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be the following morning at 10:00 a.m. with interment at Fort Meigs Cemetery in Perrysburg. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the American Lung Association or Heartland Hospice Care. Finally, the family wishes to acknowledge the excellent care Robert received during his final illness from Heartland, especially recognizing Patti, Dru and Victoria.
